She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Elaine and Leonard Shields of Bridgeton; her children, Rachel Henes and Jon Henes; her grandchildren, Sam, Ellie, Charlotte, Cece, Jake, Noah and Nathaniel; and her husband Michael Henes. She was also cherished by friends, neighbors and relatives.
Karen was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease in 2007 at age 59.
