Dianne M. Ringwald Obituary
Dianne M. Ringwald, 79, entered into eternal life Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at The Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Catskill, N.Y.
Dianne was born on November 26, 1943, in Catskill, N.Y. and was the daughter of the late Alice and John Ringwald.
Dianne is survived by her dear sister Claudia Labuda and many cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister Marilyn, brother in law, Arthur J. Labuda, Jr. and several uncles and aunts among them her favorite, Aunt Helen.
Dianne was a lifelong resident of Coxsackie and parishioner of St. Mary's and a graduate of The Coxsackie-Athens High School, Class of 1962.
Dianne was a customer service representative for Marshall and Sterling for more than forty years.
Dianne was born a leader who served our village in numerous ways. She served thirty seven years as a Village Trustee and a term as Mayor of Coxsackie. Initiating many local traditions, Dianne was the point person for events such as Christmas by the River, Riverside Festival, Yard Sale Day, Farmers Market and Youth Program. Dianne was chairman of the Christmas Tree Lighting and organizer of the Memorial Day Parade. In 2022. Dianne was chose to be its Grand Marshal.
In gratitude and recognition for her dedicated community service, Dianne was the recipient of the following awards and honors: Town and county Business and Professional Women's Organizations prestigious Woman of the Year (1989), Coxsackie VFW Post 10986. Special Award for Dedicated Community Service (1999), Coxsackie Chamber of commerce Prism Award (2002). Dianne was also an inductee to the CAFÉ Wall of Honor (2012).
In her rare spare time, Dianne enjoyed reading Danielle Steel, watching golf on T.V., cooking and baking many desserts among them her favorites tiramisu and pineapple upside down cake.
Most of all, Dianne enjoyed spending quality time with her sister Claudia shopping and eating at Red's Restaurant which was their favorite place to dine.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 80 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, N.Y., 12015, on Monday, January 23, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church at 12:00 P.M. the same day. Interment will follow in the family plot of The St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Route 385, Coxsackie, N.Y.
Claudia wishes to extend a special and grateful thank you to The Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center to Director Ann Woodhouse, nurses, aides and staff that cared for Dianne during her short stay at The Pines. Many thanks also to Debbie Guptill, Alice Gatt, Marianne Mitchell, and Amy Weeks and cousins for all of their support.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of The W.C. Brady's Sons, Inc. Funeral Home, 97 Mansion Street, Coxsackie, N.Y., 12051.
The family would appreciate donations to the Village of Coxsackie to replace the Christmas tree that had been dedicated to Dianne's sister Marilyn and all the young people of the Village who have passed away.
