He is survived by: his wife Carol Halme; his friend Harley Davidson; his children, Joel Nowalk (Katie) of Dexter, NY and Kristin MacHenry (Robert) of Cortland; his grandchildren, Devin MacHenry of Fairport, NY, Brett and Jason MacHenry of Cortland, NY; and his brothers, Ron Knout (Krista), Stuart Knout and Bob Ellis (Wendy). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, one might consider a contribution in Dick's name to the Cortland County SPCA or an animal shelter of choice.
