He was predeceased by: his parents, John Pavlyak and Mary Pavlyak; and his brother James McDermott. He is survived by: his children, Jonathan McDermott (Melissa) of Homer, Katelyn Leonard (Kyle) of Queensbury and Annemarie Farris (David) of Tennessee; his grandchildren, Jocelyne, Rosalie, Elliott McDermott, Brigitte, Riter and Vada Sue Leonard; his close friend Diana Moreland; his niece Mary McDermott; and his nephew Christopher McDermott.
