It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta S. Eckel of Cortland, New York, who passed away on September 14, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bert Sherman and Harriet "Walden" Sherman; her daughters, Karen Moore (Robert) and Kellie Peek (Chad); and her siblings, Sarah Sharp, Charlotte Bosworth, Christine Hatter, Celia "Putt" Mullen, William Sherman, George Sherman, Charles Sherman, Robert Sherman, David Sherman, John Sherman and Richard Sherman.
She is survived by: her daughter Vickie Metcalf (Martin); and her grandchildren, Chrystal Deeken, Jessyca Doran, Nathan Busby, Rebeckah Stull, Wendy Pomeroy, Travis Moore, Martin Metcalf Jr., Nichole McIntosh, Connor DuBois, William Metcalf, Chad Eccleston, James Eccleston and Kathleen Peek. She is also survived by 25 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
