John G. Helms Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John G. Helms of Cortland, New York, who passed away on October 9, 2022 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Helms and Mary "Betty" McAuliff Helms; his daughter Sara J. Helms; his siblings, Kelley Williams, Patrick Helms, J. Michael Helms (Shirley) and Mark Helms (Donna); his brother-in-law Walter Gay; and his nephew Patrick Gay.
He is survived by: his son John Helms (Sarah) of Pompey; his grandchildren, Kara Whatley (Parker) and Hunter Helms; his sisters, Sharon Gay, Rosemary Malchak (Stephen), Kristen Wilson (Charles) and Mary Jo Helms; and his friends, Jerry Malchak, Lucille Sopp and Angela Griffin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
Memorial contributions in John's name may be directed to St. Margaret's Church or to the charity of one's choice.
