With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Murphy (Cortland, New York), born in Buffalo, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 16, 2024 at the age of 77. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Murphy and Mary Schwab Murphy. He is survived by: his siblings, Dr. Timothy Murphy (Donna), Peter Murphy (Michele), Paul Murphy (Lyn), Mary DeRosa (Smeraldo), Sally Haynes (David) and Patricia (Jeff Scottow); his wife Lucy Newton; and his children, James W. (Kason Temple), John P., Jeanne-Marie Kavanagh (Tom), Colleen Brady (John), Laura Malczon (Jeff) and Allison Cryan (Sean). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
