We bid farewell to Helen F. Ackroyd (Cortland, New York), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 17, 2024 at the age of 93. Helen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis and Rose H Fanning; and her sisters, Marcene Sherman (John), Mary Riese (James) and June Goehner (Theodore).
She is survived by: her husband Theodore Ackroyd. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
She participated in several community activities, serving as an RSVP volunteer, serving on the Board of Directors of the SPCA, where her love for cats was exemplified by making several cats a member of her family over the years.
Donations in Helen's memory may be made to; St. Mary's Stained Glass Window Restoration Fund or Cortland Reparatory Theater.
