He was predeceased by: his parents, James Benedict Mahan and Sergeant; his wife Alma Mary Gallagher Mahan; his sister Patsy Mahan; his sons, James and Mark Mahan; and his siblings-in-law, John Bosch and Kay Rose.

He is survived by: his children, Brian Mahan and Monica Sullivan; his siblings, Patrick Mahan and Jeanne Mammalis; his daughters-in-law, Sue Mahan and Jennifer Mahan; and his siblings-in-law, Joseph Gallagher, Pete Rose, Helen Bosch and Mary Gallagher. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
