He is survived by: his wife Karen V. Akin; his children, Rowan Merante (Dana Olsen), Douglas, Nathan (Michelle) and Seth (Laurie); his stepchildren, Todd, Troy Akin and Heather Hannawalt (Philip); his grandchildren, Clare Gallagher, Jessica, Kate, Jack, Caroline Fowler, Alyssa, Aidan Fowler and Jeremy Fowler; and his pet Charlie.
