He is survived by: his wife Joleen Aldous of Halifax; his sister Barbara; his daughter Heather (Mark McLean); his son-in-law Kirk Yanofsky (Joy Boyce); and his grandchildren, Clara, Leah, Paige and Fife.
In 2000, he was presented with a special award from the Halifax Regional Municipality for his contributions to environmental protection.
