He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Bittles and Adrienne Bittles (Larmon); his son Richard J. Bittles, Jr.; and his siblings, Robert and Adrienne Burke.

He is survived by: his wife Suzanne M. Bittles (Fracasse); his brother Ronald Bittles (Florence) of Florida; his children, Jennifer A. Doyle (Kevin) of New Windsor, NY and James A. Bittles (Sylvia) of Cedar Point, NC; his grandchildren, Robert, Richard, Courtney, James, Christopher, Amanda, Ryan and Brendan; and his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Maddox and Francesca.
