He was predeceased by: his parent Phillip McCowen; and his sisters, Joyce Cowton, Beatrice Beasley, Amy Whelan and Phyllis Allen.
He is survived by: his parent Sadie Smith McCowen; his wife Teresa Blaine McCowen; his children, Kathleen McPhillips (Russell Karrick) of Newburgh, Terri Ann Clearwater (David) of Cornwall, Vickie Fitzgerald (Tom) of Newburgh, Mary Fremgen (John) of Boonville, NY and John McCowen (Robin) of Oceanside, NY; and his sisters, Vivian Smrtic and Carol Jane Haddad of Tupper Lake, NY. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; brother.
