With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John C. Rice (Cornwall on Hudson, New York), who passed away on February 4, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Daniel Rice and Mary Rice (Fenton); his wife Mary; his children, Shaun, Daniel, William and Maureen; his children-in-law, Mary, Karen, William and Neil; his siblings, Mary, Patrick, Daniel and James; his grandchildren, Ronald, Olivia, Mairead and Siobhan; and his great grandchild Zoe.

Due to the continued public health concerns of covid-19, please know that facial coverings must be worn in the funeral home at all times.

“I met John Rice when I was hanging around the last stop on the BX49 bus that John drove in 1964,,he tried daily to convince us to join MaBSTOA when old enough..I did in 1973 after the Army,,John was downtown then,,.I finally got to work with him at the Gun Hill depot in the late 90's ,,I told him who I was & where we met & he laughed out loud..The last of the "Incumbent Shifters" & I worked together,,as I was shifting 3 to 6 pm & 6:30 to 3:30 am as 'close out shifter'..He will be MISSED.,RIP.”
