He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos H. Ziegler and Muriel Blanche Ziegler (Riker); and his brother Amos H. Ziegler, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Betty Jane Ziegler (Nelson); his sons, Jay R. Ziegler, Jr. (Dennis Janssen) and Jon R. Ziegler (Sharon); his grandchildren, Catherine Martinez, Nicholas Martinez and Jacob Ziegler; his brother William L. Ziegler (Donna); and his siblings-in-law, Lorraine Radler-Ziegler and Ken Nelson, Jr. (Ralph Julius). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
