He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony Constanine Chain and Mary Teresa Chain (Kronenberger); his significant other Diane L. Jones; and his son Charles Jones. He is survived by: his children, Heather J. Bateman of Liberty, NY, Jennifer M. Chain of Wallkill, NY, Stacy A. Chain of Spring Hill, FL and Steven M. Jones of Cornwall, NY; and his sisters, Laura Wiest, Lynne Belsito and Kathy Burch. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren.
