He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy McGettrick and Thelma Miller McGettrick; his daughter Suzanne McGettrick Bacille; and his sisters, Patricia McGettrick Myers (Bobby) and Dawn McGettrick Costley.

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn "Kay" Kain McGettrick; his children, Kristina McGettrick (Linda) of Newfield, NY and William McGettrick of Corning; his grandchildren, Ashley Driscoll Struble (Zachary) of Big Flats, Madison McGettrick of Corning and Cody Watkins (Kristyn) of Horseheads; and his sisters, Jacqueline McGettrick Woughter (Terry) of Gillett, PA and Elaine Cherock (Jim) of Corning. He is also survived by several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
