She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederick Gates and Leona McMillen; her husband Walter Nichols; her brother Charles "Chuck" McMillen; and her grandson Edward Moore.
She is survived by: her family, Cindy Coggins (Sean) of Elmira, Tina Walborn of Elmira, Mary Keefe (Matt) of Elmira and Laura Mitchell (Thomas) of Florida; her grandchildren, Jeremy Moore (Samantha DeRico), Tara Walborn (Bert Singerhoff), Cameron, Sheldon Walborn, Tyler, Brady Keefe, Erika Huffman (Noah Bowdy), Paige Huffman, Alexis Huffman (Vince Amato) and Justine Huffman; and her nephews, Phillip Fletcher and Tim McMillen. She is also survived by several great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Virginia requests donations be made to your local Vietnam Veterans organization.
