He was predeceased by: his parents, Craig Retterer and Rebecca Retterer (Hayes); his son Douglas Retterer; his sister Carol Conklin; and his nephew Curtis Schmidt.
He is survived by: his daughter Kelly Abel; the mother of his child Deborah Retterer; his granddaughters, Delaney and Harper Abel; his siblings, Patricia Rose (Paul) and Stephen Retterer (Cindy); and his friend Kimberly Trank. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
