With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Pani Joan S. Mahler (Corning, New York), who passed away on December 28, 2024 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Pani Joan has departed this earthly realm, her legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May her spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Sovich and Anna Sovich (Kranjak); and her son Michael Mahler. She is survived by: her husband Rev. Daniel Mahler; her children, Ralph Mahler (Jennifer) and Rochelle Hickey; and her grandchildren, Laurel, Andrew and Chad Mahler. She is also survived by mother to her three beautiful children.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary's Orthodox Church.
