He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Ernest Carpenter and Katherine Carpenter (Runyan); his wife Robin; his daughter Samantha Carpenter of Corning; his stepchildren, Shane Tanner (Risa) of Corning, Kaitlin Moyer (Bryan McKinley) of Macedon, NY and Emily Tanner (Ryan Kirkpatrick) of Rochester, NY; his granddaughters, Madilynn Mae and Laila Ann; and his siblings, Edward Carpenter (Karen), Richard Carpenter, Michael Carpenter (Cindy), Ernest Carpenter, Jr. and Cami Carpenter. He was also cherished by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorial donations may be made in Mark's name to the American Cancer Society or Chemung County SPCA.
