He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Bastian and Mary Bastian (Pickering); his wife Alice Smith; his siblings, Glenn Bastian, Lloyd Bastian, Virginia Smith and Fay Jones; and his friend Omer Sumner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing are encouraged to make donations to one's local animal shelter or humane society.
