He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory J. Smerdon and Thora F. Smerdon (Evans); and his brother Stephen Smerdon. He is survived by: his children, Cheri LaScolea (Jay) of Corning, Charlene Burns (Michael) of Colorado Springs, CO and Geoffrey Smerdon (Kelly) of Sanford, NC; his siblings, Brenda Smerdon (Rene) of Mansfield, PA and Bryan Smerdon (Antoinette) of Rock Hill, SC; and his grandchildren, Abby, Noah LaScolea, Cailynn, Isrielle, Josias Smerdon and Quinnlan Burns. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
