He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Holmes and Ida Holmes (Gannon); his wife Joyce Herrick; his granddaughter Ciara Garrahan; his siblings, Betty Klopp and Charles Holmes; and his son-in-law Sam Bowling.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Bowling of Corning and David Holmes (Linda) of Savona; and his grandchildren, Stephanie Watson (Lee) of Beaver Dams, Stacy Thomas (Justin) of Addison, Chad Bowling (Rebecca) of Carlisle, PA, Jessica Adams (Chris) of Simpsonville, SC, Deanna Wooten of Quinton, VA and Kristen Williams (Christopher) of Bath. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
