In the sacred silence of farewell, David is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that his light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of his loved ones. He was predeceased by: his parents, August Stenger and Margaret Stenger (King); and his siblings, Bill Stenger and Joyce Matson (Stenger). He is survived by: his wife Nancy Stenger (Nesbitt); his children, John Stenger (Cathy) of Georgia and Audra Stenger (Cyril Mickelson) of British Columbia; and his stepgrandchildren, Alex and Allie.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Gabriel's Church (78 Shethar St, Hammondsport, NY 14840).

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to their favorite charity.

“We express our deep sympathy to Nancy, John & Audra and their families. Dave was a wonderful man and very dear to us, and especially to my mom, Kathy (Eddy) Parker, who befriended Dave & other childhood pals up at the lake over 60 years ago! After many years, they reconnected & we had the great privilege of visiting with Dave & Nancy while vacationing up on Keuka these past two summers. Dave took our 5 kids out on his boat and taught them to ski. Treasured memories for us. May he rest in peace.”
