It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Irene Eick of Corfu, New York, born in Alabama, New York, who passed away on October 24, 2020, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, LaVern Gray and Edith Gray (Brege); her daughters, Elaine Wheatley (David) of Delhi and Diane Phelps of Corfu; her son-in-law Paul Schafer of Tallahassee, FL; her grandchildren, Summer Forness (Dan), Grayden Schafer (Brittany), Juliane Hillis (Paul), Christina Rheam (David), Peter Wheatley (Kristin), John Wheatley (Amber), Joanna Hatch (Nathan), Kyle Phelps (Lindsay), Carrie Phelps and Lindsey Mating (Ryan); her husband Robert; her daughter Carol Jean Schafer; and her son-in-law Paul Wesley Phelps. She was also cherished by 17 great grandchildren along with many other loving friends.
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing rules will apply to both events.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial gifts in Ruth's memory be given to Gateway Home, 91 Main Street, Attica, NY or St Paul Lutheran Church, 31 Washington Ave, Batavia, NY.
