As we bid Douglas farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Douglas is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Shirley A. Godinho; his sons, Douglas G. Godinho and Garland Godinho (Nancy Wittemann); and his grandchildren, Gaia and Aja.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beechwood Continuing Care in Getzville, NY, where he was a resident in Assisted Living since 2019.
