He was predeceased by: his wife Irene Staebell; and his son Martin Staebell (Patti). He is survived by: his children, Michael Staebell (Harriet), Patricia Fuller (Wirt) and Thomas Staebell (Mark Horowitz). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
