“Carl was one of the very finest men I have ever known; I worked with Carl, side by side, at his business. Seldom have I come across a more impartial man; with amazement did I see Carl pay greater respect and care towards working class customers, than he did wealthy folks, eschewing whatever profits wealthy customers brought to his business. As a boss, there were days he insisted on taking out the trash, as a way to keep himself humble. He was a fine man and teacher, who I will miss terribly.”
