He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence E. Shaw and Lulu Shaw (Jeffries); his wife Doris M. Shaw (Atkins); his children, James E. Shaw Sr., Mary C. Shaw, Georgana L. Shaw, Sarah Miller O'Neil and Nicole Miller; his grandsons, Thomas M. O'Neil and Andrew J. O'Neil; and his siblings, Jacquelyn, Nora, Forrest, Freddie, Lawrence Jr. and William.
