He was predeceased by: his parents, Catherine Douglass and Allan J. Douglass; his brother Chester Douglass; and his parents-in-law, George and Edith Scheer.

He is survived by: his wife Christine Douglass (Scheer); his children, Karen (Thomas McGhee Jr.), David (Heather Douglass) and Michael (Lori Douglass); his grandchildren, Sage, Hunter, Chloe, Meridyth, Daniel, Quinnley, Teagan and Freya; and his pet George.
