He was predeceased by: his parents, Esmer Waddell and Talmadge Waddell; his son Bobby Joe Waddell; his stepgrandson Joseph; and his siblings, Lula McSwain, Ovelia Hawkins, Francis Gardner, Lucille Jenkins Gilbert, Doris Phillips, Ann Jones, Lois Russell Beam, Pauline Martin Howell, Howard, Elbert, Jerry, Hoyt, Troy, Charles and Harold.
He is survived by: his siblings, Elizabeth Crocker (Danny) of Gaffney, Carol Jordan of Carolina Care and Ronnie Waddell (Renee) of Boiling Springs; his former wife Donna McWaren Vantine of South Plymouth, NY.; his stepchildren, Jeremy Vantine (Kara) of South Plymouth, NY., Cherie Hanna (Michael), Serena Hughes (David) of Earlville, NY and Tonya Loscavia of South Plymouth, NY.; his daughter-in-law Sandra Waddell of Gaffney; his grandsons, Bobby Joe, II, Justin, Steven and Austin Waddell; his great grandchildren, Reagan, Hank, Hunter, Elijah, Jurni, Jax, Jett, Jovie, Brylee, Emmilyn and Asher Waddell; and his stepgrandchildren, Brandy, Joshua, Elizabeth, Glenn, Matthew, Sarah, Timothy and Chloe. He is also survived by 21 step-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Love Springs Baptist Church (562 Sunny Slope Dr, Cowpens, SC 29330).
