She was predeceased by: her father John Bowens; and her grandmother Mary North. She is survived by: her husband Antonio Barnes; her children, Ricardo, Antonya and Raynaija; her mother Cyd North; her parents-in-law, Sylvia and Mark; her grandchildren, Harmonii and Nalani; her brothers, Anthony Bowens and Joshua Thomason; and her aunt Sue Medley. She is also survived by several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
