He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon and Mildred; and his stepmother Marion. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte; his children, Adam Nichols (Rita), Fred Nichols (Jackie), Genie Johnston (Christopher), Sandra Ace (Jeffrey) and Cindy Chappel; his grandchildren, Eli, Josh, Zoe, Sam, Amanda, Daniel and Carleigh; his great grandchild Jude; and his siblings, John, Barbara and Eleanor. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Mercy House of the Southern Tier.
