He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frederick Hommel and Carolyn Hommel (Henn); his wife Catherine M "Kay" Hommel (Molitor); his children, Fred (Debra Hommel), Carolanne (Richard Arnold, Sr.) and Richard Hommel of Lenox, MA; and his siblings, Franklin (Wilma Hommel), Carol (Robert Newkirk), Albert Hommel and Kathleen Hommel of Amarillo, TX. He was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial donation to Hungry for Music, a nonprofit organization that provides musical instruments to underprivileged children around the world.
