He was predeceased by: his parents, William Banach and Hedwig Banach; and his brothers, Ronald and William Banach. He is survived by: his brother Robert Banach (Pam) of North Carolina; his sister-in-law Judy Banach of Albany; his caregiver Michael Lanza; his goddaughter Aimee Sheehan of North Carolina; his nephews, Robert Banach Jr. (Liat) of Arizona and Ronald Banach Jr. (Debra) of Amsterdam; and his niece Kelly Banach of Pennsylvania.

Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals (343 New Karner Rd, Colonie, NY 12205). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
