The memory of Barbara Jean Pettit of Colonie, New York, born in Coxsackie, New York, who passed away on March 28, 2025 at the age of 90, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Carter and Bertha Carter; and her husband Peter E. Pettit. She is survived by: her sons, Peter (Maureen), David and Michael (Renee); her grandchildren, Mark (Emily), Andrew (Daniel), Olivia, John (Serena), Alexa (Nora), Samantha and Cassidy; her great grandchildren, Lily, James, Maeve and McKenna; and her sister Karen Ennis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McVeigh Funeral Home (208 N Allen St, Albany, NY 12206). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, April 3rd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Christ Our Light Catholic Church (1 Maria Dr, Albany, NY 12211).
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter's Hospice would be welcome.
