He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Edwards and Mabel Edwards (Stanley); his sister Jean Davenport (Bob); and his grandson Glenn Strahan. He is survived by: his children, Cathy Edwards, Susan Strahan (Everett) of Mineola, TX, Gordon Edwards, Jr. (Alberta) of Newport and Anna Roberts (Jace, Jr.) of Pittsburgh, PA; his siblings, Donald Edwards of Little Falls, Richard Edwards of Herkimer, Alice Smith of Norway and Betty Clark of Norway; and his grandchildren, Kaylynn, Jerry, Scott, Anne, Chris, Jen, Reya, Tina, Darrell, Priscilla and Will. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
