He was predeceased by: his mother Ada Dagenkolb; and his wife Marie (Young). He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Irwin (Leslie) of Poland, Tracy Irwin of Poland, Lisa Upson (Roy) of Newport, Melissa Allen (Mike) and Bradley Irwin (Karen) of Poland; his siblings, David Dagenkolb of Cold Brook and Dian Hughes (Gary) of Cold Brook; his grandchildren, Morgen, Shiane, Jessica (Garrett), Rachel, Trinity, Teddy, Lexi, Brittany (Mike) and Taylor (Kyle); and his great grandchildren, Brayden and Brooks. He is also survived by other great-grandson on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
