He is survived by: his wife Halina Karas of Cohoes; his children, Walter Karas (Kristina) of Gloversville, Beata Nash of Florida, Andrew Karas (Katje) of Cohoes, Stanley Karas (Tanya) of Latham and Joseph Karas (Valerie) of Latham; his grandchildren, Katelyn, Ashley, Zachary, Justin, Bennett, Andrew and Aiden; his great grandchildren, Sierra, Chelsey, Raelynn, Emily and Mason; and his siblings, Stanley, Krystina and Boguska. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends who wish to remember Joe in a special way may donate to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Rockville, MD in his memory.
