She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Filak and Mary Filak; her grandson Matthew; and her siblings, Peter, Pauline, Anna, Julia, John, Joseph and William.

She is survived by: her children, Suzanne Ropitzky (Kevin) of Georgetown, Kathleen Lemma (Nick) of Hague, Donna MacDonald (Tom) of Crestwood, KY and James Ropitzky (Tracey) of Burnt Hills; her sister Mary Karafanda of Latham; and her grandchildren, Carson, Justin (Tori), Jillian, Evan, Maia, Gabrielle, David, Andrew, Michael, Abigail, James Morgan, Autumn and Larissa. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
