He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert VanValkenburg and Ruth VanValkenburg (Vantyne); and his siblings, Walt, Bob, Leo VanValkenburg, Helen Haslun and Eddie Dibble.
He is survived by: his wife Janet VanValkenburg (Becker); his sons, Fred VanValkenburg (Barbara) of Summit and Dean VanValkenburg (Heather) of Summit; his grandchildren, Anthony VanValkenburg (Lindsay) of Summit, Amanda VanValkenburg of Summit, Samantha VanValkenburg of Colorado Springs, CO and Leah VanValkenburg of Summit; his great grandchild Ainsley VanValkenburg of Summit; and his sister Sylvia Rifenberg of Germantown. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
