He was predeceased by: his mother Lola J. Smith, Sr. (Hogaboone); and his sister Annette Kelly. He is survived by: his wife Kathy Smith (Garufi); his children, Audrey Johnston Helme (Ben) of Cobleskill, Jillian Smith of Warnerville and Zerek Smith of Cobleskill; his grandsons, Camden, Caleb, Bently and Ryker; his father Rex C. Smith, Sr. of Bennington, VT; and his siblings, Thalia Wilborn (Jimmy) of Bennington, VT, Brian Smith (Jess) of Vernon, NJ, Paul Smith of Orlando, FL, Aaron Smith (Stephanie) of Ballston Spa and Kevin Joyal (Jim) of Ballston Spa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
