He was predeceased by: his parents, John Vettenburg and Virginia Laird Vettenburg; and his brothers, Stephen, Lee and Ed Vettenburg.
He is survived by: his wife Paula A. Lewis Vettenburg; his children, Elaine Foy, Beverly Stanbro and Ronald Vettenburg, Jr.; his stepdaughter Joy Henry; his grandchildren, Amy Foy, Michael Foy, Courtney Vettenburg, Zachary Stanbro, Jessica Morton, Jacob Morton, Kim Lambdin and David Stanbro; and his sisters, Deanna Murkens, Deborah Bernoski, Dawn Bish and Donna Mack. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren.
