He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Dougherty and June Dougherty (Barnes); his wife Mary; and his brother Michael. He is survived by: his pets, Cadet, Finnegan, Jasper, River, Tully and Finley; his sister Cathleen Dougherty; his niece Shari Manwarren; his siblings, Patricia Dougherty, Colleen Dougherty and Kevin Dougherty; his parents-in-law, Timothy O'Neill, Dennis, Suzanne O'Neill, Michael O'Neill, Pattie O'Neill (Anna Rogers), Margaret "Muggsie", Michael Myers and Mary Ann Dougherty; his friends, DJ, Sarah Roy, Seth, Mary Angela Cresswell, Steve, Ruth Rolewicz, Jim, Becky McConnell (family: Lisa Meays) and Chris Perini; and also Sophia. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
