He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis Burns and Katherine Burns (MacDonald); and his sister Suzanne Young. He is survived by: his brother Peter; his sister-in-law Joanne Burns; his children, Peggy (Mike Afarian), Michael Burns (Patty Hotton), Jill (Jim Brierley), Amy (Mark Franz) and Chris Burns (Tammy Penree); his grandchildren, Kyle Afarian, Courtney Gillette, Amanda Burns, Nicholas, Christopher DiPrizio, Michael O'Donovan, Tucker, Sally Franz, Emily, James Burns and Kylie Dowd; and his friends, Renee, Stanley and Chris. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
