He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard M. Burns and Claudine Avery Burns; and his sister Susan Burns. He is survived by: his children, Richard Burns (Allyson) of Troutman, NC, Kathleen Shanks (Bill) of Verbank, NY, Stuart K. Burns, Jr. (Amy) of Kingston, NY, Kevin Burns (Karen) of Clinton Corners, NY and Christopher Burns (Christine) of Yorktowne Heights, NY.. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the William G. Miller and Son Funeral Home (371 Hooker Ave, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Joseph's Cemetery (15 North Ave, Millbrook, NY 12545).
