He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold E. Shoemaker and Dorothy Shoemaker (Phillips); his wife Laura; his daughter Barbara Schanz; and his brothers, Lynn Shoemaker and Howard Gardner.
He is survived by: his children, Richard Shoemaker (Gail), Daniel Shoemaker (Laurel), Tim Shoemaker (Carol), Laurie Tilson (Bill) and Susie Monte (Larry); his son-in-law Frank Schanz; his sister-in-law Ginger Shoemaker; and his brother David Shoemaker (Jane). He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
