He was predeceased by: his parent John Howell; his wife Alice; and his daughter Judy Wallace. He is survived by: his parent Nannie Howell; his child Curtis Howell Jr (Barbra); and his friends, Kenny Copello (Wendy) and Sue Coats. He is also survived by many grandchildren; several great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Phelps American Legion, Newark VFW or the House of John in Curtis's memory.
