He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Potter Dempsey and Murray Dempsey. He is survived by: his wife Catherine; his children, Jeremy Dempsey, Christopher Dempsey (Kim), Michael Dempsey and Jenny Dempsey; and his grandson Christoper Dempsey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in George's name to either the American Cancer Society or Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
